Ping!
July 18, 2005

Walking slowly through town
Picking my way over broken sidewalks,
Piles of sand,
People hurry by in cars, on bikes
But non smiles
A gray haze blocks the sun from view

Taking the wrong things
Seriously
I have to laugh

My heart is alone
In the world
Nothing lasts

Outside it looks like sadness
But really
Its only empty

The round bright moon
Hangs motionless
Early autumn

Years ago I felt it
And now again
Everything passing away
